house issues

so my buddies and i are trying to move into this wicked house near campus. it was supposed to be reasonably priced for a few of us to move in, but now the owner is trying to raise the rent (which is illegal considering the current contract she is in), AND is saying that we can't have the specified number of unrelated people in the house that we originally planned on. anyway, i am totally itching to get out on my own and this predicament is not helping. that is all.
